Hey Divas! Long time no speak! If you’re like us you absolutely live and breathe fashion! For us, watching the various fashion weeks around the world is like watching the stock market. Staying up on these shows helps fashionistas world-wide stay ahead of the fashion curve. That being said, we are sure many of you have noticed the latest trend that actually isn’t all that new! We are talking about “Color Blocking”, which is making its way back onto the fashion scene in a major way. 

This fashion-forward trend of mixing and matching solids is in full force for Spring and Summer.  Celebrities have been rocking it all Fall and runways across the globe, from New York, Milan and all the way to Africa, have had a designer feature color blocking in some shape, form or fashion. Designers such as Reed Krakoff, BCBG, Marc Jacobs and Victoria Beckham have all featured this upbeat trend in their lines.  

So why has this retro trend made its way back onto the runways and into the closets of celebrities and Divas around the world? The answer is simple. Color blocking allows you to mix, match and experiment with different colors, allowing you to be as creative as you want to be! Rocking this trend makes a bold statement and when you accentuate it with the right shoes and accessories it’s on!

It's a Celebration

Celebration dresses can fall into several categories such as formal, casual, cocktail or bridal. Selecting the proper dress for the evening can mean the difference between having an enjoyable night or a memorable FAIL! When finding the perfect party dress, quite a few factors should be considered.

Things to Consider
Being aware of the kind of event you are attending is definitely the first step for selecting the perfect dress. Is there a dress code? Will it be outside? What it the expected weather? Is there a theme? Not wearing white to a wedding or something too revealing to a company event are great examples of what NOT to do. On the other had, being too jazzy at an evening event being held outside or that is family-oriented may make you uncomfortable and question if you want to sit all night out of fear of ruining your new dress or even worse, giving a free show! Eekk!

Show Off Your Individuality

The dress you choose is usually a reflection of you. This piece should highlight your best features and compliment your skin tone and eye color. You should feel comfortable enough to dance, sit, stand, and pose for pictures without fear of how they will translate onto Facebook. The key here is to remember to never overdue it, as this could cause you to look tacky and/or cheap. A wise person once said, "Sometimes less is more." Remember, this is often the case. Give thought to your personal style, the design and color of your dress, the event, and what type of statement you are trying to make. Whether we want to embrace it or not, every outfit says something about us. Remember, embellishments like sequins and rhinestones can make your dress look classy, expensive and sheek, but will also require fewer additions when its time to accessorize. And last, but definitely not least, choosing the correct hairstyle will add the finishing touch to your glamorous ensemble.
