What to Wear on a First Date

Good Day Divas,

Have you ever wondered what you should wear on a first date? Below are some Do's and Don'ts on how to dress to impress, while staying chic and classy!

Do Dress for the Occasion

Whether you are going dutch or he has offered to pay, Do find out what you will be doing and plan your outfit accordingly. Are you going to a football game and you need to wear shorts or jeans? Or are you going to a romantic dinner and you want to be feminine to the extreme? In short, this is definitely a place to start when prepping for your big night!

Don't Wear Anything too Revealing

While we are definitely a fan of being alluring, we would never send any L.L. lady out to fail! Don't wear an outfit that is too short, too low-cut, or see-through. As wonderful as men can be, they can also be distracted easily at times. Wearing the proper attire the first time you go out with him can set the tone for the rest of your relationship, be it short & sweaty or long & loving! If you are reading this post, you are probably in favor of the latter, although a nice mixture of those sounds pretty appealing too!

 Do Keep It Comfy

There is nothing worse than being out on a date and wondering if people can see your food baby from across the restaurant! And even if it's just your imagination, this can still affect the persona you are giving off to your date. Be sure you wear something you feel comfortable in, no matter where the night make take you. Confidence is so very important, and so are first impressions.

Don't Be A Clown Face

If you both have agreed to go out together, there must have been something that each of you liked about each other. Hiding your true self behind layers and layers of make-up is not the way to create something lasting. Although there are definitely times to glam it up, first dates may not be one of them. This could give off the impression that you have something to hide or, if you end up getting a little closer, it could get you stuck with his dry cleaning bill (a true Diva would at least offer). ;-)

Do Know That Less is More (We Are Talking Accessories Here)

Again, just like with make-up, keeping your accessories to a minimum allows your date to see the real you. Wearing too many accessories can make you look like a walking Christmas tree and he won't know where to look because you have too many things going on!

Don't Wear Wardrobe That Comes With A Soundtrack

We have all had or know someone that has had that pair of shoes that announces their entrance well before you can see their face. Don't be that girl. I know this may be your favorite pair of shoes or the bangles that match your garb best, but to avoid a rather awkward conversation with your new friend, save those babies for the club!

Do Bring It

Do bring the one thing you cannot buy at any retailer near you, YOUR CONFIDENCE! A confident woman is a woman of intrigue. She is interesting, alluring, and she can definitely bring the boys to the yard! Good luck and go get 'em, DIVA! ;-)
